From Cliffs to Coral Reefs:My journey as a Photographer in Krabi

Hello, my name is Anastasia and welcome to my story as a Photographer in Krabi. I was born in Russia, in the small city of Penza and grew up in a fairly typical Russian home. Later I went to university in Moscow when I came of age to study psychology. Throughout my years I always dreamed of traveling abroad to see other places in the world and learn about other cultures.

Throughout my childhood I never had money for a camera and was therefore not easily about to document my journey. After I graduated from university I had the opportunity to travel and live in America (USA) for a short time so off I went.

After my trip to USA, I was hooked on traveling and seeing other countries. So I did just that, traveling through Europe to Cyprus and eventually landing in Krabi 2010 where I met my husband and decided to settle down and start a family.

It wasn’t until I settled down that I was able to buy and dedicate time to my camera and find friends who would be my models where I could learn and practice my skills to become a better photographer.

Now with over a decade of experience under my belt behind the lens, I am happy to share my skills with the world. I’m excited to showcase Krabi for all it’s beauty and highly recommend as a destination choice for anyone considering a photoshoot.

I can say that being a photographer in Krabi has given me much joy and happiness capturing peoples emotions, holiday and relationships on camera in the backdrop of truly stunning landscapes.

Why is Krabi a great place to do photography

With turquoise waters, limestone cliffs, and white sandy beaches, Krabi provides a great canvas for any photography. Whether it’s a breathtaking sunset or a hidden lagoon nestled within lush mangroves, Krabi never fails to offer a plethora of enchanting scenes.

The vibrant culture and warm hospitality of the local community also play a significant role in my love of photography here in Krabi. The people of Krabi have a way of making you feel like family. No matter the situation, you could have a flat tire on your motorbike, or be caught in the rain, no matter where you are or what happens you know that a friendly face is right around the corner.

The people of Krabi are a big part of why I love this place, they welcome you with open arms and share their stories with genuine warmth. Every interaction in Krabi, from the vibrant local markets to the peaceful Buddhist temples, presents a chance to capture the essence of Krabi’s spirit and its people

“The diverse ecosystems, including mangrove forests, vibrant coral reefs, and lush rainforests, offer endless opportunities to capture the raw beauty of our natural world.”

What is special about me as a photographer?

As a female photographer in Krabi, I take immense pride in breaking stereotypes. I enjoy to showcase the strength and grace of women through my work. Krabi, with its untamed landscapes and adventurous spirit, perfectly complements this narrative. Whether it’s capturing the fierce determination of a female rock climber or the serene elegance of a traditional Thai dancer, I am never at a lack for inspiration for finding material as a photographer in Krabi.

One of the aspects of being a photographer in Krabi that continuously excites me is the opportunity to witness nature’s raw beauty. There is truly so much to see and experience in Krabi, both great places to do photoshoots as well as places to explore. From the stunning bioluminescent plankton lighting up the ocean at night to the dance of migratory birds against the backdrop of a fiery sunrise, Krabi is a haven for all photographers. So even if you’re not interested in scheduling a photography session in Krabi, reach out to me in you’re interested in finding great places to take photos on your own, I’m always around to help.

Nature in all it’s beauty can be a challenge

Being a photographer in Krabi comes not without its challenges. Mother Nature can be unpredictable, and sometimes, I find myself facing the fury of tropical storms or braving the intense heat and humidity. However, these hurdles only serve to deepen my appreciation for the shots I get and also to remind me of how and when they were taken. They remind me that photography is not just about capturing a moment but also about embracing the experience and immersing myself in the beauty of the world around.

In a world where time seems to be constantly accelerating, photography has the ability to pause moments and allow us to revisit them. It is this timelessness that makes me fall in love with my work as a Krabi photographer over and over again. Through my photos, I can transport myself and others back to the enchanting shores of a beach, or a dense overgrown jungle road while reliving the emotions and memories.

Why I love Photography in Krabi

Being a Krabi photographer has been an incredible journey of self-discovery, growth, and creative exploration. It has allowed me to capture the soul-stirring beauty of this tropical paradise, celebrate the strength and grace of families and individuals alike, and document the delicate harmony between humans and nature. Through my lens, I aim to inspire and evoke emotions. Let me help showcase you and your family in the beautiful backdrop of Krabi while you’re on Holiday.

When is the best time to come to Krabi

With the global seasons changing all time time it's very hard to give the historical dates when speaking about planning for future dates. That being said typically November - April are the best months to be in Krabi (and Thailand as a whole). But as the weather is bright those months it's also rather hot, so we recommend planning to at least one back up day for photo sessions. Or at a minimum to get started early to avoid the heat.
